DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT
They are found in southeastern Asia, including southern Laos, eastern Cambodia, and central and southern Vietnam.
BEHAVIOUR
They live in family groups include male, female and their offspring. They are diurnal and arboreal. They range in weight between 7 and 11 kg and reach lengths between 60 and 80 cm. Males and females are similar size.
DIET
Red-cheeked bibbons feed mainly on fruit and leaves, sometimes flowers.
REPRODUCTION
This species is monogamous. Pregnancy lasts up to 7 months. They give birth one offspring at a time. Females nurse their young for up to two years. Infants are born with bright yellow fur, after few months their fur changes colour to black. Females revert to a yellowish colour around the time of sexual maturity. The offspring stay with the family unit for 6 to 8 years.
