Gdańsk Zoological Garden is committed to ensuring the accessibility of its websites in accordance with the Act of April 4, 2019, on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector entities. This accessibility statement applies to the website zoo.gdansk.pl.

The website zoo.gdansk.pl is partially compliant with the Act of April 4, 2019, due to the following non-compliances or exclusions:

  • Some elements cannot be navigated using a keyboard.
  • Partial lack of alternative texts.
  • No indication that external links open in a new tab for some elements.
  • Some PDF documents are not correctly read by screen readers for visually impaired users.
  • The Contact section lacks information in sign language and an easy-to-read format (ETR).

Requests should be processed promptly, no later than 7 days. If accessibility cannot be ensured within this timeframe, it will be provided within 2 months of the request date.

Complaints and Appeals

Complaints and appeals regarding accessibility are handled by Gdańsk Zoo, a budgetary unit.

  • Complaints and applications are coordinated by the registrar’s office of the zoo.
  • They can be submitted in person, by phone, or via email during business hours:

Complaints must include: full name, address, and complaint details.

If a request for accessibility is refused, a complaint can be filed regarding digital accessibility. If this process is exhausted, a complaint can also be submitted to the Ombudsman (Rzecznik Praw Obywatelskich).

ARCHITECTURAL ACCESSIBILITY

Location and General Information

The Gdańsk Zoological Garden is located in the Oliwa district of Gdańsk, covering 125 hectares of the Tri-City Landscape Park, making it the largest zoo in Poland. It houses over 850 animals of nearly 146 species, many of which are endangered.

No animals are allowed in the zoo, including guide dogs.

Getting to Gdańsk Zoo

???? Bus routes to the zoo:

  • 169 (Oliwa – Zoo – Osowa) – operates year-round
  • 622 (Oliwa – Zoo – Oliwa) – operates in summer
  • G (Pogórze Górne (Gdynia) – Zoo) – operates in summer

 Paid parking is located 200 m from the main entrance. Payment can be made at parking meters or via a mobile app.

Disabled parking spaces: 10 designated spots closest to the parking exit, subject to standard APCOA parking fees.

 Bike racks are 20 m from the main entrance.

Zoo Entrances & Exits

 Main entrance: Open year-round with ticket booths, no thresholds, and an intercom system.
The gate is opened by security staff.

 Seasonal exit: Open May–September, located near the bus loop, accessible for disabled visitors.

Additional entrance/exit: Located at the zoo parking lot, open on weekends and holidays in May, June, and September, and daily in July and August. It is accessible for disabled visitors.

Tickets & Discounts

Tickets can be purchased:

Free entry (with a free pass):

  • Persons with severe disabilities (with one accompanying person)
  • Children under 16 with a disability certificate
  • One guardian of a disabled child (if their certificate indicates the need for care)

 Reduced tickets:

  • Persons with moderate and mild disabilities (upon presenting relevant documentation)

Inside the Zoo

 Walking route: 5 km of paved paths, with natural inclines but no stairs. Benches and shelters are available.

Animal pavilions are accessible for disabled visitors.

 Parents’ room: Available in the Bird & Reptile Pavilion, equipped with a changing table, comfortable chair, and sink.
